A wee lazy morning after all the exertions of Cape Leveque. Easy breakfast and off to a local market at the Broome Courthouse. It’s a typical beachside hippy, crafty sort of vibe but has some nice sauces and spices on offer. We do a Brian MacDonald and taste everything we can with bits of bread and some with just a spoon and very nice they were to. The perfect after breakfast treat we thought. Now Kaz has looked at a million hats (well a lot of hats) and today is no exception, that is except for the fact that she found one she liked and actually bought one at last. It’s the same make as my hat which I bought in Sydney a number of years ago and is Aussie made. We could have spent some cash on stuff but we did well by not doing so.
We head back to base get changed and head off for a final visit to what we reckon is the best beach in Australia we have seen on the trip so far, that being Cable Beach. We park in our usual spot and within minutes we are in the beautiful water which today is pretty rough with some good sized waves knocking us over and was great fun. Further along the beach to the north side the beach is like a bloody car park in Coles with 4×4 cars parked all over the place. We spend a few hours here and have a few swims then pack up and leave for the last time.
We head to Coles for supplies as we are leaving here Sunday morning to head towards Port Hedland and Karijini national park, so who knows what will be available after that. Tonight we are having peppers steak and mashed spuds, yum, we will also have a glass of something with it no doubt.
It will be strange leaving Broome as it has been great and if anyone gets the chance to visit then do so, you will love it as much as we have, we will definitely be back. Couple more of the big truck motor home thing.
